Tooth Whitening

Tooth Whitening

White Teeth are in. It has become the number one reason why people visit the Dentist or Dental Hygienist for cosmetic dentistry and there are now a multitude of options available to whiten teeth. The most popular method and the one we recommend is a home tooth whitening system. It is a non-invasive method that turns the enamel on your teeth the color you want them to be and gives you the white smile you want!

This treatment only works on enamel that is natural, so it is important for you and your Dentist or Dental Hygienist to examine any previous dental work, so you can determine if you will need any replacements of restorations after your whitening service is completed. As you eat and drink, the whitening will naturally be lessened and so will need to be touched up after many years, or earlier if you have any habits that will stain your teeth quickly (coffee, smoking and wine). Good dental habits, eating healthy and regular visits will extend the life of your whitening treatment.

Why Should I Whiten My Teeth?

Some great reasons for you to consider whitening your teeth are :

  • Normal Stains Over Time On Teeth
  • Self Consciousness Over the Color of Your Smile
  • Daily Coffee and/or Wine Drinking Stains on Teeth
  • Medications That Have Stained Your Teeth
  • Over Fluoridation While Teeth Were Developing Causing Discoloration

How Do You Do It?

Our tooth whitening treatment is non-invasive and totally pain free. It will require two visits. At the first visit we will take a mold of your teeth to create plastic trays that will fit your mouth perfectly. The trays are clear and at your second appointment you will try them on to make sure they fit comfortably and your Dentist or Dental Hygienist will make any adjustments needed. Depending on the staining degree and color of whiteness you prefer, there are a few options for the whitening treatment. You will use our custom whitening solution either overnight for a few weeks, or 30 minutes a day, twice a day. Talk to your Dentist or Dental Hygienist to find out the right schedule for what you are hoping to achieve. Good dental habits, eating healthy and regular visits will extend the life of your whitening treatment.
